Pastime Puzzles

Children Skating puzzlechild and turkey puzzle

Pastime puzzles were made by Parker Brothers from 1908 to 1958. All the puzzles were hand cut most with figural pieces in them. The cutter would get to select the shapes and placement in the puzzle and then hand cut the rest of the puzzle. They would often do color line cutting which made the puzzle more difficult to assemble. There were no guide pictures included with the puzzle, just a title on the end of  the box.

History

Parker Brothers copyrighted the shapes in there puzzles in 1933. This was during the puzzle craze that happened in 1932-33. At the height of the craze there were several weekly puzzle companies that were coming out with new cardboard puzzles weekly.
